Jeff Green

Chief Executive Officer, Founder & Chairman


Jeff Green is the Founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board of The Trade Desk, Inc., a technology company that empowers buyers of advertising through data-driven decisioning. Hundreds of billions of impressions are bought on The Trade Desk platform every year by leading agencies and brands.

Following a successful IPO in 2016 (NASDAQ: TTD), the company’s stock rose 231 percent in its first year as a public company. The company employs almost 700 people in over 10 countries around the world. Since 2012, the company has experienced a compound average growth rate (CAGR) of 138 percent.

Green built The Trade Desk as a second-generation demand-side platform, positioning it at the center of digital advertising’s trading future by offering efficient, transparent technology. Among the first programmatic ad partners of Facebook’s ad exchange, Apple, Spotify, Comcast, and CBS, The Trade Desk has been recognized by Business Insider, Crain’s, Deloitte, Forbes, Fortune, Glassdoor and others as both fast-growing and one of the best places to work. In 2015, Forbes named The Trade Desk one of the top 10 ‘America’s Most Promising Companies.’

The American Marketing Association named Green one of the ‘4 under 40’ emerging marketing leaders and California State University Channel Islands recognized him as 2017 Technology Leader of the Year. Green and co-founder Dave Pickles were also named 2017 Entrepreneurs of the Year by Ernst & Young.

A recognized digital marketing and advertising expert, Green regularly appears in national media, including Bloomberg TV, Business Insider, CNBC, Fox Business, NPR and The Wall Street Journal, among others. In 2017, Green appeared on 60 Minutes to share data with consumers about how to avoid fake news.

Prior to The Trade Desk, Green founded AdECN, which he built in 2004 as the world’s first online advertising exchange. As COO, he led all strategy, product, and business development. AdECN was acquired by Microsoft in 2007 and Green spent two years at Microsoft Online Services Division overseeing all reseller and channel partner business, including ad monetization for Facebook, MSNBC, MSN, Fox Sports, and others.

Green has also played a leadership role in the digital advertising industry, serving on the Networks and Exchanges Quality Assurance Guidelines Committee for the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), leading working groups that established rules and best practices for acquiring inventory, and setting data transaction standards.

Green has served on the boards of several advertising and technology companies in the U.S. and Europe and served as an advisor to multiple companies including AppNexus, a technology platform based in New York City.

Green and The Trade Desk have done work for hundreds of non-profits, including Water.org, The Charity Defense Council, Thorn, and Not Impossible. For two years Green served as Chairman of the Board for a non-profit school he started in Southern California.

Green resides in Ventura County, California.

Dave Pickles

Chief Technology Officer & Founder


As Chief Technology Officer, Dave Pickles oversees all engineering, product innovation and data science at The Trade Desk, a technology company that empowers advertising buyers through data-driven, real-time decision-making. The Trade Desk’s robust technology offers marketers unparalleled audience scale and reach to connect with their consumers, evaluating nearly 9 million ad impressions and quadrillions of permutations across the internet every single second. Hundreds of billions of ads are bought on The Trade Desk platform every year by leading agencies and brands around the world.

Pioneers of real-time bidding technology, Dave and Jeff Green founded The Trade Desk in 2009. Following a successful IPO in 2016 (NASDAQ: TTD), the company’s stock rose 231 percent in its first year as a public company. The Trade Desk employs over 800 people in 12 countries across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific and has been recognized by Business Insider, Crain’s, Deloitte, Forbes, Fortune, Glassdoor and others as a fast-growth company that is consistently named a best place to work. A recognized expert on programmatic advertising technology, Dave is regularly featured in the media, including Forbes, VentureBeat, eWeek and SiliconANGLE and speaks at industry events like Traction. Dave and co-founder Green were named Entrepreneurs of the Year by Ernst & Young in 2017.

Dave has spent his entire career building real-time internet delivery systems. In 2007, Dave joined AdECN, the ad exchange acquired by Microsoft. Dave’s team built the complete federated exchange in less than seven months, enabling real-time bidding and performance testing of 30B daily impressions. The architecture Dave crafted remains effectively unchanged today.

Prior to AdECN, Dave was a senior engineer at internet telephony startup, CallWave, Inc., where he was involved in building all back-end components of the system, including client session management services, telephone call handling services, customer registration services, B2B integrations with all major telephone carriers, and complex database systems, such as a custom billing and CRM system.

Dave received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He lives in Ventura County, California with his wife and children.

Jay Grant

Chief Legal Officer


Jay brings to his role as Chief Legal Officer of The Trade Desk over 20 years of legal experience with media and digital enterprises. Prior to joining The Trade Desk, he served as EVP & General Counsel of Univision Communications Inc.'s Digital and News divisions. Prior to that, he was EVP & General Counsel at UCI’s English language media division, the Fusion Media Group, a multiplatform company that includes digital publishing, a cable network, studio, and home to brands like Deadspin and the Onion. An officer of UCI and its more than two dozen broadcasting networks, cable networks, digital and mobile properties and more than 120 television and radio stations, he advised senior management on strategic partnerships, new ventures, content acquisition, and distribution deals.

Jay has held a variety of senior leadership positions. He managed corporate governance
and transactions for UCI and its board of directors, served as group counsel for UCI’s
corporate development and strategic growth group, and represented all UCI divisions. Jay has also served on the boards of both El Rey Holdings, LLC — the media venture with a general cable network and advertising creative agency — and the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications. He started his career in private practice at the law firm Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP.

Jay received his J.D. from the University of California Berkeley Law, and an M.B.A with specializations in strategy, entertainment, media, technology, and corporate finance from New York University. He also holds a bachelor’s degree cum laude in government from Harvard University.

Blake Grayson

Chief Financial Officer


As Chief Financial Officer of The Trade Desk, Blake Grayson oversees the company’s overall financial activities, including controllership, tax, treasury, analysis, investor relations, facilities, and financial operations.

Prior to becoming CFO of The Trade Desk in 2019, Grayson was at Amazon.com for over a decade, helping to support many of the company’s fastest growing initiatives. He most recently was the Vice President, Finance, for the International Consumer business, serving as the head of finance for businesses in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, India, Japan, China, Australia, Brazil, Middle East, and Singapore, as well as for worldwide finance teams for Automated Marketing, Kindle Content/Books, and Global Payments. Prior roles at Amazon included leading finance for the company’s worldwide Marketplace business, and various finance functions for North America Consumer, Amazon Web Services, and Global Payments. Prior to Amazon, he worked for Washington Mutual/JP Morgan Chase leading Payments finance and FP&A functions, and previously worked in the wireless and financial services industries. Grayson graduated with a BA (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Washington and has an MBA (with honors) from the University of Southern California.

Grayson is currently based in Seattle where he lives with his wife and two children.

Vina Leite

Chief People Officer


As Chief People Officer of The Trade Desk, Vina leads all aspects of global human resource strategy and operations. The HR team is dedicated to creating a unique employee experience, evolving and strengthening the company’s values-driven culture. As the people leader of a fast-growth company, Vina strives to inspire and hire those who will shape the future of advertising technology and work together to build memorable careers.

Before joining The Trade Desk, Vina served as Chief People Officer at the cybersecurity firm Cylance Inc., which was acquired by BlackBerry in 2019. At Cylance she led the company through rapid growth to be recognized as one of the Great Places to Work in Orange County. Vina has previously held several other HR leadership roles in the technology sector, including as CHRO at QLogic, VP of HR at EMC, and CHRO at Unicom. She is known for her ability to unify and grow global HR organizations to meet the needs of rapidly evolving technology companies.

Vina currently serves on the Board of Advisors for Cyvatar, a transformative provider of cybersecurity solutions founded by industry experts. She is a member of the National Human Resources Association and the Society for Human Resources Management.

Committed to giving back to the community, Vina invests time as a volunteer consultant to the Cape Verdean American Association, helping recent immigrants from the islands which are home to her extended family. She is a longstanding supporter of organizations dedicated to helping women and their children, as well as victims of domestic abuse and human trafficking.

Vina graduated with an M.S. in Organizational Management with a specialization in Human Resources from Capella University in Minneapolis. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Rhode Island College, and Professional HR Certification and HR Management from Roger Williams University.

A mother of two, Vina lives in Southern California with her husband.

Tim Sims

Chief Revenue Officer


As Chief Revenue Officer of The Trade Desk, Sims drives the company’s revenue generation and new client acquisition globally. Sims manages The Trade Desk’s global business development organization as well as the inventory partnerships team to continue the company’s rapid growth, particularly in the area of connected TV (CTV). Sims has more than 20 years’ experience in the advertising industry, six of those with The Trade Desk.

Prior to his appointment as CRO, Sims served as Senior Vice President of Inventory Partnerships at The Trade Desk. In that role, Sims drove the company's strategy and execution in creating cutting-edge supply-side collaborations with partners around the world and across multiple channels including video, audio, mobile, native and display. Sims spearheaded The Trade Desk’s growth in emerging channels like CTV and Audio, with CTV spend on The Trade Desk’s platform increasing 137% percent year-over-year from 2018 to 2019 and audio spend on the platform up 185% from 2018 to 2019. Sims has been influential in driving The Trade Desk’s continued global growth, with first-to-market integrations with many premium publishers in the past year, including including Disney Advertising Sales, NBCUniversal, SlingTV, Freewheel, Spotify, and TubiTV in the U.S., TikTok and AbemaTV in the Asia Pacific region, and RakutenTV and TFI in Europe.

Additionally, Sims leads the company’s industry-shaping publisher management platform, where advertisers can transact with publishers to buy premium inventory through programmatic channels.

A recognized industry leader, Sims was named one of the 23 insiders shaping the future of TV advertising by Business Insider and he has been quoted and published in a variety of media, including Adweek, Variety, ZDNet, MediaPost and eMarketer’s ‘Behind the Numbers’ podcast. He is a frequent speaker at industry events including Cannes Lions, DMEXCO, AdvertisingWeek, IAB’s Programmatic Symposium, and Modern Marketing Summit as well as many partner events.

Sims serves on the Board of Directors for the Ad Council, an American nonprofit organization that produces, distributes, and promotes public service announcements.

Sims is an advertising technology veteran, having previously served as Director of Business Development at OpenX, and Director of Media at Spot Runner.

Sims is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and lives and works in New York City.

Susan Vobejda

Chief Marketing Officer


As CMO of The Trade Desk, Susan oversees all aspects of the company’s marketing including branding, product marketing, creative design, digital media, content development and PR. She brings a strong track record of strategic marketing leadership and a passion for building brands across the media, technology and consumer sectors.

Named to Forbes’ World’s Most Influential CMOs, Susan is a recognized expert at the forefront of marketing’s digital transformation. Susan is regularly featured in media including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Reuters, and Adweek. She is also a frequent speaker at industry conferences including CES, Forbes CMO Summit, and AdvertisingWeek NY.

Before joining The Trade Desk, Susan served as EVP and Chief Marketing Officer of global fashion brand Tory Burch, where she led a customer-centric, omnichannel, and global digital transformation of all brand communications.

Prior to Tory Burch, Susan was the founding executive and GM of Bloomberg’s Media Distribution division, which she built into a highly profitable global content business. In addition, Susan has held marketing leadership roles at Bloomberg.com, Yahoo!, Gap Inc., and Walmart.com.

Susan serves on the Board of Directors of MyEyeDr., a company that operates a national network of more than 500 vision care centers. Additionally, Susan serves on the CMO Advisory Board for Ridge Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm. She is also committed to mentoring the next generation of business leaders through being a W.O.M.E.N. in America mentor, a member of the Women’s Forum of New York, and presenter at Deloitte’s Next Generation CMO Academy.

Susan received a B.A. in economics from Carleton College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and all sports, especially golf.

Sandeep Swadia

EVP, Chief Data and Trust Officer


As The Trade Desk’s Chief Data and Trust Officer, Swadia is responsible for data strategies that will improve advertising relevance for The Trade Desk clients, while enhancing the consumer experience and improving business and consumer trust.

As data-driven advertising becomes a larger segment of what is expected to be a $1 trillion total advertising market by 2027, there is growing focus on how advanced technology can help improve data quality, transparency and privacy. In this role, Swadia works with clients, industry partners and standards groups to help address these opportunities in a way that drives trust and growth.

Swadia brings 20 years’ experience in the technology and media industries, with executive leadership roles in some of the fastest-growing companies. Most recently, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of cybersecurity firm White Ops, where he helped orchestrate and lead an industrywide overhaul in digital advertising fraud prevention.

Prior to that, Swadia held executive leadership positions at several technology and media companies and served as a board member of IQ Media.

Swadia has an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a Master’s in Mathematics from Northwestern University. He is based at The Trade Desk’s New York office.

Matt Goldberg

EVP, Global Operations


As Executive Vice President, Global Operations for The Trade Desk, Matt Goldberg oversees all aspects of The Trade Desk’s operations, including the company’s rapid geographic expansion. Based in New York, Matt helps The Trade Desk to maintain its global mission and culture as the data-driven advertising leader in key markets around the world, while adapting local market customs and nuances to future growth.

Matt brings more than 20 years’ leadership experience across the global media industry. Prior to joining The Trade Desk, he was Global Head of Mergers, Acquisitions, and Strategic Alliances for News Corp, where he also led the online publishing, digital real estate and data businesses in India. He previously served as SVP and Head of Corporate Development at Liberty Interactive/QVC Group, with a focus on content and commerce across TV, digital video, and emerging markets.

Matt has also held several executive operating roles, including CEO at Lonely Planet, where he focused on the digital transformation of the business and its geographic expansion into China, India, Brazil, and Russia. Under his leadership, the company more than tripled its digital footprint and doubled digital revenue, which grew from less than 10% to nearly one-third of the total while growing its market share as the #1 travel publisher worldwide.

Previous senior leadership roles include SVP, Digital Strategy & Operations for The Wall Street Digital Network, where he led the go-to-market strategy for all sites in the network and established operations across video, mobile, podcasting and other emerging media. He also launched and led Dow Jones Integrated Solutions, the division offering custom cross-media solutions leveraging all advertising and marketing platforms across the company.

He began his career in public service, working as Director of Strategic Planning with the Illinois Housing Development Authority in Chicago, as a Campaign Officer for the Liberal Party of Australia, and as Assistant to Illinois Governor Jim Edgar.

Matt has served on a number of non-profit, foundation and for-profit boards as both Director and Chairman. He currently serves on the boards of Lumina Foundation in Indianapolis, Burning Man Project in San Francisco, and TeamSnap in Boulder, CO.

He holds a BA in English from Cornell University, a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Melbourne in Australia, and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

Matt lives with his wife and 3 children in Short Hills, NJ.

Michelle Hulst

EVP, Global Data and Strategy


As Executive Vice President, Global Data & Strategy at The Trade Desk, Michelle leads the data partnerships and strategy organization. She is responsible for originating and managing partnerships that provide advertisers with the data solutions they need to drive their business performance.

Before she joined The Trade Desk, Michelle was Group Vice President, Marketing & Strategic Partnerships at Oracle Data Cloud, a global business unit within Oracle. The unit focuses on helping the advertising industry’s largest brands and platforms create better outcomes using data and technology. Michelle led the strategic partnerships, business development, culture, and marketing organizations, including the teams responsible for sourcing and managing data and platform partnerships.

Prior to it being acquired by Oracle, she was at Datalogix from 2006–2015, where she was Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Business Development. Michelle led the global deal team’s execution of pivotal partnerships, which were instrumental in transforming the business from an offline, direct-mail company to a data-driven digital innovator. She was a founding member of the executive team responsible for growing Datalogix to one of the largest data companies in digital advertising, leading to the sale of Datalogix to Oracle.

Previously, Michelle worked at Entertainment Publications, an operating business of IAC/InterActiveCorp, for almost 11 years. She held several positions there before becoming Vice President, where her role included the strategic direction and general management of a new business initiative focused on digitizing promotions for SMBs.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Hawaii, and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and three sons.

Dan Ackerman

VP of Global Client Development


Dan Ackerman, VP of Global Client Development at The Trade Desk, is responsible for the growth and development of some of the company's most important global client partnerships.

Dan is a long time TV and digital advertising industry veteran working at the forefront of developing advanced TV advertising planning, targeting, and analytics technologies. He’s led development and go-to-market for platforms and services at late stage private technology companies and large public media companies, including ViacomCBS, Verizon Media, WideOrbit, and Samba TV. Prior to joining The Trade Desk, he served as Chief Revenue Officer at TV data and analytics company, Samba TV, overseeing the global revenue operation. Before Samba, he led the Advance TV practice for Verizon Media as SVP, Advance TV.

Dan is a graduate of The University of Maryland at College Park. He currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and two daughters.

Christine Anderson

VP OF UX/UI


Christine joined The Trade Desk in 2019. In her role as VP UX/UI, she partners with leaders across the organization to craft the customer experience vision for the Trade Desk’s products, and ensure we deliver seamless and delightful experiences end to end. She inspires teams to innovate through a unique blend of UX (design, user research, linguistics, motion/film) and product (product management, data analytics, engineering) expertise, as well as experience designing for a multiplicity of cultures, devices, and industries.

Christine is an influential creative and product executive who brings over 20 years of experience leading UX for major worldwide consumer brands, such as Amazon’s Alexa and Microsoft/MSN’s TV, mobile, web, and mail products. She also brings expertise in analyzing, visualizing, and gamifying data, having spent six years as SVP Creative and Digital Media for Sportvision. Her leadership spans voice and multimodal, AI personality expression, hardware, games, big data visualization, TV, mobile, web and client portals, instructional design, and AR/VR.

Christine earned her BA in Film and Video Studies from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and her MLA from Eastern Michigan University in Interdisciplinary Technology. She is a leader in the consumer product design industry, speaking on such topics as beautiful data, meaningful user experience design, and customer centered design. Christine is also a published author and holds several patents for original innovations in design. She is a passionate leader of women's initiatives, organizing internal and external networking and community events, mentoring women within her organizations, and participating in Girls Who Code and DigiGirlz. Christine is based in The Trade Desk’s San Jose, California, office.

Keith Anderson

VP of Global Tax


Keith Anderson is the Vice President of Global Tax for The Trade Desk (TTD). In this role, he is responsible for all areas of taxation, including financial reporting, planning, policy, and compliance initiatives. He has over 20 years of experience and has managed the tax function at various technology and internet companies. Keith manages the TTD tax function from the company’s headquarters in Ventura, CA.

Keith began his career within KPMG’s federal tax group and earned his Certified Public Accounting license during this time. Keith holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from California Lutheran University and a master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University.

James Bayes

GM Australia and New Zealand


James Bayes serves as ANZ General Manager, where he oversees all business in Australia and New Zealand, with a particular focus on expanding the Connected TV business and building The Trade Desk’s market footprint.

Bayes brings nearly twenty years of experience in senior digital, sales leadership, technology, and media agency roles in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He joined The Trade Desk from Seven Network, one of Australia’s largest integrated media companies, where he led all aspects of the company’s digital commercial operations. Bayes has been at the forefront of data-driven addressable TV in Australia, and brings a wealth of hands-on experience in the rapid transformation of the broadcast industry and IP-delivered video.

James is a graduate of the University of Melbourne, and is based in The Trade Desk’s Sydney office.

Chip Bell

VP of Total Rewards


Chip Bell is Vice President Total Rewards for the Trade Desk. In his role, Chip is responsible for the design and implementation of the company’s compensation and benefits programs around the world.

Chip has held the same role for three other companies – The Dow Chemical Company, Amgen, and Albemarle, and has also served as a compensation and benefits consultant to more than a dozen other Fortune 1000 companies over the past decade. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of WorldatWork, and he has also been a member of the Conference Board’s Councils on Compensation and Executive Compensation.

Chip is a graduate of Louisiana State Unviversity (Geaux Tigers!) with a major in Accounting/Finance. He and his wife Donna have four children and one grandchild and reside in Westlake Village, California.

Mike Blacker

VP of Strategic Business Development


Mike Blacker is the VP of Strategic Business Development at The Trade Desk, a global demand-side-platform in the $5B real-time bidding industry. In his role, Mike prospects for new strategic clients across various industries and works extensively with existing clients to further embed The Trade Desk platform into their business.

Mike is an adtech veteran with a string of start-up including Infoseek, CBS SportsLine, Epylon/Accenture, ExpertCity/Citrix, AudienceScience, Feeva, Quova and Neustar. Mike was one of the first to sell online ads back in 1996 and has spent his entire career working in various roles around digital advertising, adtech and ad platforms.

Mike graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara and lives with his family in Ojai, CA.

Yann Blat

GM Strategic Accounts & Initiatives for EMEA


As GM Strategic Accounts & Initiatives - EMEA at The Trade Desk, Yann Blat leads the growth of several large accounts on a European scale, focusing on strategic initiatives in the EMEA market.

Yann is a veteran of the online advertising industry. He has always been part of technology companies at the service of advertisers, agencies and publishers.

He has built his experience through working for DoubleClick, Google, Mediamind/Sizmek, Facebook/Atlas.

At The Trade Desk, Yann spend the first 3 years building the foundations of The Trade Desk business in France and Belgium before moving to his new role.

Stacy Bohrer

RVP of Business Development


Stacy Bohrer is Regional Vice President of Business Development for The Trade Desk, an omnichannel platform in the programmatic industry. In her role as BD lead of The Trade Desk’s Midwestern region, Stacy works with her team to build client relationships with agencies across the market.

Stacy is passionate about partnering with agencies to navigate programmatic and evolve their business models. She established The Trade Desk’s business development function out of Chicago in 2013, quickly building the company’s portfolio and establishing The Trade Desk as the platform of choice among programmatic buyers in the region.

Stacy has worked across all facets of advertising in her career, including roles in display, ad serving, social, and radio. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University.

Amber Browne

VP of Client Development


Amber Browne, née Seipel, is Vice President of Client Development at The Trade Desk, a global omnichannel demand side platform. As a leader in the sales organization, Amber helps drive the development and expansion of some of the company’s most important global client partnerships. Prior to this role, Amber joined The Trade Desk in 2013 to lead the growth of what is now one of the company’s largest holding company partnerships.

Amber is passionate about helping marketers and agencies evolve their digital strategy, and create better customer experiences and business outcomes through best-in-class technology. Amber is a digital advertising veteran, having started her career on the agency side at Avenue A | Razorfish (now Razorfish) and Digitas Health (now Publicis Health Media) before transitioning to a sales role at WebMD.

Amber holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing from Drexel University and lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and their puppy.

Dave Castell

GM of Inventory & Partnerships for EMEA


Dave Castell is GM of Inventory and Partnerships for EMEA, overseeing the region’s strategic partnerships with publishers, broadcasters and platforms across multiple channels including digital, mobile, TV and audio.

Originally a musician, journalist and web designer, Dave has spent nearly two decades at the forefront of the converging digital, mobile and broadcast sectors, working at the cross-section of branded content, entertainment, technology and advertising innovation at some of the world’s biggest media, entertainment and technology players.

At Nokia, Dave led the European Entertainment business in its transformation to MixRadio, then at Microsoft started the Global Brand Partnerships & Marketing function before heading up Global Retail Partnerships for the combined AOL (Verizon/Oath) and Microsoft advertising platforms. Prior to that he led Music, games, technology and mobile for ISP Tiscali, overseeing the rollout of European music downloads and radio, working with major record labels, festivals and rights owners.

Agency side, he held Director positions at venture capital-backed digital production company Tough Cookie and independent agency Big Briefs, producing and advising on ad-funded original digital connected TV content for the leading global broadcasters (BBC, ITV, C4, Sky and ABC) – and was digital producer for the (still) record-breaking global livestream of U2’s show for Google, as well as developing digital output for clients like the UK Government, PlayStation and Samsung.

As Director of Digital on the board of The Guardian Media Group’s branded content agency Seven, Dave led digital, video and M&A strategy, producing Emmy-award nominated digital work for Showtime TV, and content campaigns for the likes of McDonalds and Sainsbury’s.

More recently he spent time consulting - including branded partnerships and content strategies for Channel 4, partnerships for Three Mobile, global marketing for AI & Voice behemoth Nuance Communications and digital entertainment for Red Bull and EE.

A regular speaker and panellist across omnichannel digital marketing, innovation and culture, Dave has appeared at events like the Global Innovation Forum, MIPCOM/MIPTV and Mobile World Congress, as well as a judge for the DADI awards. Dave is also passionate about raising awareness and charitable funds for mental wellbeing through cross-industry music and technology initiatives like Listen Out.

A self-confessed eclectic music lover and gadget geek, Dave holds a first-class bachelor’s degree in English literature and language and an A.K.C qualification in Philosophy & Religion, both from Kings College London. Dave lives in Greater London with his wife and 4 children.

As General Manager, China for The Trade Desk, Calvin leads the company’s business in China, with a particular focus on localization of branding & strategies, client relations and industry partnerships.

Calvin has 15 years of experience with marketing data solutions, most recently as Chief Executive Officer for AdMaster, China’s leading digital measurement and data solution provider. As CEO, he oversaw the company’s P&L, operational performance, organizational development, product R&D and strategic partnerships. Prior to AdMaster, Calvin held management positions in China and the United States for Nielsen.

Calvin is an innovative and widely respected digital industry expert in China, speaking regularly at major industry conferences such as I-COM, Advertising Week, ROI Festival and Global Mobile International Conference and also featured in Campaign magazine’s Asia Pacific region’s “40 Under 40” and China’s “Digital A-List.”

In addition to his digital marketing and advertising industry experience, Calvin often delivers guest lectures at leading universities, including Peking University, Fudan University and Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST). He also served as a senior advisor (and former chairman of the Board of Advisors) for AIESEC in Mainland China, a non-profit organization that promotes youth leadership and global internship programs. Calvin has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in humanities from HKUST.

Prior to The Trade Desk Ed was COO at Adbrain which The Trade Desk acquired in October 2017. Ed has over 15 years of digital experience having helped pioneer best practice and build multi-national businesses across search, affiliate, mobile and marketing analytics. Notable achievements include developing one of the world’s first mobile ad tracking platforms at Somo and being selected as one of Media Week's 30 under 30 in 2013.

Ian Colley serves as Vice President of Communications, where he oversees all aspects of global communications for The Trade Desk.

Prior to his current role, Ian spent more than 20 years at IBM, leading communications for a range of divisions including IBM Cloud, IBM Finance, IBM Global Services and IBM Europe. Ian began his career at two New York City communications agencies, Edward Novotny & Associates and the Weiser Walek Group, where he managed communications for clients such as Goldman Sachs, Barclays Bank, Nuveen, Club Med and COMEX.

Ian is a graduate of the London School of Economics and is based at The Trade Desk’s New York City offices.

David Danziger is the Vice President of Enterprise Partnerships at The Trade Desk, a global demand-side platform in the $5B real-time bidding industry. In his role at The Trade Desk, David leads the company's strategic partnerships for data, targeting, and measurement. His emphasis is creating relationships that increase effectiveness of The Trade Desk clients’ media buys through improved front-end targeting or back-end analytics.

David is an adtech and data industry veteran having previously served as senior director of data solutions at Merkle and director of data products at Acxiom.

Mark Davenport

As GM of Data Science, Mark oversees the global data science team at The Trade Desk. His team is responsible for developing products from the massive amounts of data The Trade Desk platform generates, working closely with the product and engineering teams to see these products through to the client-facing platform.

As an early employee at The Trade Desk, Mark has built the data science team from scratch. Prior to joining The Trade Desk, Mark worked as an analyst at NISA Investment Advisors, LLC, where he was involved in developing proprietary financial modeling and engineering tools.

Mark holds a B.S. in Systems Engineering and Economics from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.S. in Statistics from the University of Chicago. He lives and works in New York City.

Mike Davis

VP of Innovation


As VP of Innovation, Mike Davis is in charge of designing The Trade Desk's technology leadership in the programmatic space. He is a veteran of the software industry with 15 years of experience designing and developing software systems. Mike has founded two other startups and worked for both small development shops and industry titans. His career started as an architect and senior developer at Sun Microsystems in the Connected Network Systems division and was also an architect in the Sun Java Center consulting practice. Davis came to The Trade Desk after founding his most recent start-up, Centripetal Software, a comprehensive backup solution, transfer software, and database for SAAS business users.

Before Centripetal, he was a senior technical program manager at Microsoft where he worked on .Net languages and compilers, enterprise modeling tools, and an online advertising exchange. Davis spent his last year with Microsoft working on the AdECN team, leading the technical integration efforts with demand side platforms and well as internal Microsoft ad serving and network infrastructure.

In her role as senior vice president at The Trade Desk, Tahnil oversees various areas of finance from the company’s headquarters in Ventura, California. Tahnil has more than 18 years of experience, having begun her career in the audit practice of Arthur Andersen. Jed Dederick is Senior Vice President of Global Client Development for The Trade Desk. By collaborating with The Trade Desk’s global business team, Jed works to create greater communication and coverage, fueling the global growth of the independent internet.

Prior to this role, Jed served as The Trade Desk’s North American Head of Sales, Regional Vice President of East Coast Sales, and years ago as the first sales hire at The Trade Desk. In his time at The Trade Desk, he has helped create and grow the company’s largest client partnerships and developed The Trade Desk’s sales capacity including go-to-market strategy, messaging and organization.

Prior to joining The Trade Desk, Jed served in digital sales and client services roles at leading publishers including The Wall Street Journal and WebMD.

Jed is a graduate of Connecticut College where he studied music, and lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife and daughter.

Brooks Dobbs is the GM of Data Privacy at The Trade Desk where he supports The Trade Desk’s ongoing efforts to be the industry leader in privacy and data protection.

Brooks has worked in digital advertising since its start in the mid-90s and worked in data privacy since the late 90s. Brooks has extensive experience with self-regulatory and standards organizations, serving as the first chairman of the industry’s leading self-regulatory body, the Network Advertising Initiative, as well as work with the World Wide Web Consortium’s standards for DNT and P3P. Brooks was previously been the CPO of Young & Rubicam Group and Phorm.

Brooks is a graduate of Lafayette College and lives in Alpharetta, GA.

Crystal Eastman currently serves as Head of Global Marketing, overseeing Global Product Marketing, the regional marketing teams, and Global Employer Brand. In this role, Crystal leads go-to-market strategy and execution for The Trade Desk across the globe. Prior to joining The Trade Desk, Crystal served as Head of Retail Marketing for BlackRock, where she was responsible for building out a data-driven marketing organization, and relaunching the BlackRock, iShares, and Aladdin brands in the U.S. market. Under her leadership, Crystal’s team launched the 2019 “invest in something bigger” campaign, which garnered numerous awards for its category-busting, storytelling approach, and resulted in a 30% improvement in brand awareness.

Crystal is a marketing veteran, having spent her career driving brand strategy, customer acquisition, and loyalty for iconic brands, such as American Express, Allstate, and Goldman Sachs. Earlier in her career, as an Executive at American Express, Crystal’s work to reinvigorate the value proposition of the Hilton Card was recognized by JD Powers as the “Top Hotel Co-Brand 2012.” Crystal also earned the American Express Pinnacle Award for exceptional leadership.

Crystal lives in downtown New York City with her husband and two children.

Lukas oversees The Trade Desk's rapidly growing Hamburg office to serve clients across central and southern Europe and help agencies to grow their business with the right programmatic strategy and toolset. Lukas has been working in Adtech over the past six years, having previously served as Ad Operations Lead for Eyewonder and Mediamind, as well as Agency Sales Manager for DG.

Dan Feldman is General Manager and Lead Counsel, EMEA at The Trade Desk where he is responsible for advising the company on international sales, supplier relationships and business operations. Dan is CIPP/Europe accredited and has extensive commercial, software, IT and data privacy law experience. Prior to joining The Trade Desk, Dan served as Legal Director, EMEA at Couchbase, Inc., a leading database platform software company. Before Couchbase, he was Senior Director, International at Rocket Fuel, Inc., a pioneering digital advertising technology company. Prior to Rocket Fuel, Dan was Senior Vice President and Head of Commercial Legal, IP, Operations and Technology Law Group, EMEA at Citibank, and has held senior positions with Associated Newspapers and Sky Television.

Dan started his legal career at Theodore Goddard after receiving his M.A. in Law from the University of Cambridge. Dan lives in London with his wife and children.

Matt is an industry veteran, having spent the last 15 years across leading media, technology, and data solutions. Prior to joining the Trade Desk, Matt led the East Coast sales organization at Samba TV, where he was responsible for sales, revenue, and operations across their data, research, and Connected TV offerings. Previously, Matt helped shape industry-leading businesses at AppNexus and AOL, working with the largest agencies and marketers to deploy holistic, data-driven marketing solutions across multiple markets in North America and Europe.

Matt attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and currently lives in Stamford, Connecticut, with his wife and three children.

Trish Frohman, VP of Global Client Development at The Trade Desk, is responsible for the development and growth of some of the company's most important global client partnerships.

Trish most recently came from McKinsey & Company, where she was a senior advisor to client service teams in the consumer, technology, media, and sports practices. Before joining McKinsey, Trish led the NBCUniversal Sports Advertising Sales Strategy, Sponsorship, and League Relations team as an EVP, representing such iconic brands as the NFL, NHL, Olympics, NASCAR, and PGA. She began her tenure at NBCU as EVP, Advertising Sales and Operations, and chief of staff to the ad sales chairwoman.

Prior to joining NBCU, Trish served in several senior leadership roles during her nearly 17 years at Turner Broadcasting. In her last role there, she was EVP of Sports Advertising Sales and Marketing and Event Marketing, responsible for all sports ad sales revenue. Trish has also been committed to mentoring the next generation of business leaders through her work with W.O.M.E.N. in America.

Before coming to The Trade Desk, Ashutosh was VP of Business Development at Nielsen where he headed the partnership team for the Marketing Effectiveness practice. Ashutosh brings 15 years of experience in digital media and advertising. This includes global brands such as AOL, CBS, and Nielsen.

Ashutosh received his Aerospace Engineering degree from IIT Bombay and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Business.

Nate Gawel, GM of Data Partnerships for The Trade Desk, oversees partnership development among industry-leading DMPs such as Salesforce, Oracle, and Nielsen, as well as for a number of our verification and measurement partners including Moat, IAS, and DoubleVerify. Through these strategic partnerships, Nate brings a number of market audience creation and identity resolution solutions to the table.

Prior to joining our team, Nate spent over 13 years as an ad-tech and data strategist for various Fortune 100 brands. After working for a short time as a trader and buyer for digital advertising platforms, Nate quickly moved into management roles due to his passion and expertise for performance marketing in the digital advertising space.

Within this same time, Nate spent 6 years at Centro, where he built a team of 60+ buyers across his paid search, paid social, and paid programmatic platforms, while honing in on operations, performance, and mentoring. This experience, in combination with his consulting expertise, make Nate a strong fit to lead The Trade desk’s relationships with our data partners.

Josh joined The Trade Desk in 2016 and runs the East Coast business development team that partners with the world’s largest advertisers and agencies. Prior to joining The Trade Desk, Josh’s 14 years of digital media experience spanned three continents, working at Yahoo!, Microsoft, and AudienceScience in the US, Europe, and Asia. Passionate about helping large organizations build industry leading marketing capabilities, Josh has experience managing global projects with large multinationals, including the pioneering of programmatic buying in eight countries around Asia. Today, Josh advises those clients from The Trade Desk’s New York office and lives in Brooklyn with his wife and daughter.

Shana Hale is GM, Creative Director at The Trade Desk, where she helps drive the company’s brand expression around the world. Working with a growing team of designers, project managers, and copywriters, Shana spearheads the company’s global campaigns and ensures a consistent brand identity across all touchpoints and cross-functional teams — including product and brand marketing, events, sales, PeopleOps, and talent acquisition.

Among her achievements at The Trade Desk, Shana was responsible for producing the company’s 2016 IPO promotional presence and launching its first major 360° global campaign for The Next Wave — a suite of releases that included a brand new UI, powerful AI engine, and groundbreaking planning product. She also recently launched a major campaign touting new partnerships in China.

Prior to her role at The Trade Desk, Shana worked in a variety of creative roles in technology, media, and global real estate — most recently as Creative Director at Better Homes and Gardens, one of the largest media and publishing brands in North America.

Shana graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she received her BFA in Photography and Imaging. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and son.

Meredith Hall is GM of Learning & Development at The Trade Desk, an omnichannel demand-side platform. In her role, Meredith leads curriculum development and adoption of The Trade Desk's global Trading Academy, a proprietary offering designed to produce the most skilled and knowledge media buyers in the advertising Industry.

Meredith started her career in digital advertising in 2007 at IPG’s Initiative, then moved on to sales and business development at PK4 Media, Eyeblaster/MediaMind (now Sizmek), and most recently as a Sales Director for The Trade Desk.

Meredith graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles and lives with her husband in Venice Beach, Calif.

Marcus joined our leadership team in 2019 as VP of Strategic Accounts. In this role, he will focus on the long-term success of our most important clients through delivering augmented services and deeper technology integrations.

Prior to joining The Trade Desk, Marcus has enjoyed an impressive international career in marketing. Previously, he held a number of successful leadership positions in the marketing function at major global brands, including Renault / Nissan and Avis-Budget Group. He has also led revenue teams at top data and technology organizations, such as Yahoo and Quantcast.

Marcus is a board member of the American Advertising Federation, where he chairs the Corporate Council and serves on the council of judges for both the Hall of Fame and Hall of Achievement.

Marcus lives in Westport, CT, with his family.

Matt Harty

SVP of Asia Pacific


Matt Harty represents The Trade Desk as senior vice president of Asia Pacific. Harty has worked in online advertising in Asia since 1997, co-founding the first pan-Asian Ad Network, SpaceAsia Media, which was sold to CMGi in 2000.

Matt then co-founded Activ8, a Yield Management company (precursor to SSPs) as a JV with OutBlaze, handling global media sales for 400 websites including Mail.com and HelloKitty.

His next position was managing News Corp's .FOX Networks for APAC and MENA. From FOX, Matt moved to Omnicom's Accuen as the GM of the first APAC regional ATD. Before joining The Trade Desk, he ran the Audience Solutions business for Experian Asia.

Harty is based in Singapore.

Izzy Hedges

As GM of Client Services for the San Francisco & Mountain West regions for the Trade Desk, Izzy oversees the Trading and Account Management teams operating in San Francisco & Ventura (California) and Boulder (Colorado). The Client Services team are the guardians and stewards of client relationships and responsible for ensuring that clients have the knowledge and know-how to best use The Trade Desk to deliver on their business needs. In her role, Izzy provides strategic vision and guidance to the team to ensure the best partnerships between client and agency.

Prior to joining The Trade Desk, Izzy held senior roles within the Media Agency world, working with OMD in London and most recently running Vizeum Global’s office in Los Angeles. Izzy’s experience spans all verticals, markets and media types but she has particular experience with global entertainment brands including Disney, Sony and 20th Century Fox.

Izzy is a New Yorker by birth, a Colonial Brit by accent, a Kiwi by identity and is excited to be a new resident of the Bay Area.

Pat Isom is Vice President, Client Development at The Trade Desk, where he oversees strategic partnerships and executive relationships with a large advertising holding company.

Pat has more than 25 years of experience partnering with large advertising holding companies and leading a variety of Fortune 500 clients. Prior to joining The Trade Desk in 2019, Pat worked at LinkedIn and a few top digital and advertising agencies, including Razorfish, Leo Burnett, Giant Step, Agency.com, and Wells Rich Greene BDDP. He has a deep marketing background in B2C and B2B in several industries, including automotive, CPG, consumer electronics, financial services, and telco. The clients he’s led in the digital and integrated marketing space include General Motors, Ford, Toyota, Nestlé Purina, Philip Morris International, Motorola, BlackBerry, Sprint, CVS/Caremark, and Energizer.

Pat holds an MA in Applied Economics from the University of Michigan and a BS in Mathematics from Hillsdale College. He’s based in the Chicago office of The Trade Desk.

James Kiernan is a 20+ year media industry vet. James spent the first half of his career working for global agencies, including Ogilvy, FCB, MediaVest, and Zenith.

James then made the move to sales, and has held leadership positions at ESPN, Twitter, and prior to joining The Trade Desk, he ran Digital Sales at Fox Networks.

James has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Adage, and Digiday, and has been a contributing writer for Business Insider and MediaPost.

James is a graduate of the University of Delaware and earned his MBA at Pace University in NYC. He resides in Montclair, NJ, with his wife Alex and their two children.

Prior to joining The Trade Desk, Ryan Kim worked as a GM in charge of all Korea business operations at Creative Clicks, and helped grow the company significantly since its launch. He’s also worked as a BD Director at Criteo and a Business Manager at Yahoo! Korea.

Ryan holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Michigan State University and an MBA from The State University of New York.

Francois-Xavier brings over 15 years of digital marketing experience to the role. Before joining The Trade Desk, he was Head of Adobe Advertising Cloud for Southwest EMEA. Prior to that, he held the role of FR Country Manager of TubeMogul, which he supported until its acquisition by Adobe. François-Xavier also served as Sales Director, then Country Manager at Specific Media (Viant Technology), and as Account Executive at various companies, including CNBC.

Kei Majima serves as General Manager of Japan at The Trade Desk, where he oversees all business in the region.

Majima brings over twenty years of experience in senior digital, sales leadership, and media agency roles in Japan. He joins The Trade Desk from UiPath, one of the fastest-growing American technology companies, where he led the Japan marketing team. He also brings a range of experience in working with premium publishers and emerging digital media, including having served as Japan Country Manager for Taboola, and as an early stage employee of Facebook Japan. Prior to that, he had various senior sales roles at a major Japanese advertising agency, Hakuhodo.

In his free time, Majima’s passionate about mentoring young founders of the next generation of startups as a part of a Tokyo-based incubation program.

Majima holds a bachelor’s degree from Sophia University, and is based in The Trade Desk’s Tokyo office.

Mary Matyas is VP of Client Services at The Trade Desk, leading Account Management and Trading. She is enthusiastic about helping brands and agencies meet and exceed their marketing goals by building strong technology partnerships.

Mary joined from Criteo, where she led Sales and Account Strategy for their Retail Media group. Her career includes 10 years at digital agencies, including iCrossing, Digitas, and Performics. A digital marketing veteran, Mary’s broad range of experience includes both small startups and large brands like American Express. Mike Medeiros is GM of Brand Planning at The Trade Desk. In this role, Mike brings his deep industry knowledge and experience to provide key insights and strategic recommendations for positioning The Trade Desk’s brand, business, and products. He is the voice of the customer, and champions the brand and campaign strategic thinking, ensuring The Trade Desk’s marketing efforts are insightful and impactful.

Over the past 20 years, Mike has asked millions of questions to satisfy his natural curiosity and develop insightful strategies across a range of categories; including telecommunications, beverages, confectionary, hotels, and rental cars. His extensive experience in both qualitative and quantitative research has led to successful strategies for some of the biggest brands.

Prior to joining The Trade Desk, Mike honed his skills at agencies like McCann, Deutsch, Publicis-Seattle, JWT, and DDB. He’s lead strategy for brands like Snapple, Trident, T-Mobile, Westin Hotels, Brawny, the U.S. Army, American Airlines, Lockheed Martin, United States Postal Service, New York Lottery, Hertz, and Seasonique.

Mike lives in Darien, CT, with his wife Camilla, their two daughters, and dog, Tanner. He can be found most weekends cheering for or coaching his kids on either the softball or soccer field.

Sandrine Moreau

GM of Global Services


Sandrine Moreau is General Manager of Global Services for The Trade Desk. As the global services lead, Sandrine works with her team to drive customer satisfaction and customer retention by fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence. Prior to her role at The Trade Desk, Sandrine served as SVP, Services & Operations, for AGDATA, where she was responsible for restructuring the company’s Service & Operations organization.

Sandrine is originally from France, where she met her husband during college. Shortly after graduating, they moved to London for nine years before relocating to the United States in 2008. They enjoy travelling, spending Christmas in France with family, and playing with their adopted rescue dog Marla.

Lorenzo Moreno

RVP of Business Development, West


Lorenzo Moreno is the Regional Vice President of Business Development for the West Region, overseeing the development and management of The Trade Desk’s business initiatives and sales efforts for the Los Angeles and Southwest region.

Lorenzo has worked in nearly all aspects of digital media from the sales side, with experience at ad network Tremor Video, video publisher Veoh.com, and Ad Verification company DoubleVerify, where Lorenzo was one of the first employees spearheading early adoption of verification technology in the industry, across three major agency holding companies. Prior to entering into digital media, Lorenzo held sales leadership positions at financial publisher Tradingmarkets.com, where he managed a sales group of 10 direct reports and spearheaded all sales efforts for the site.

Lorenzo is a graduate of Harvard University and is happy to be living in sunny Los Angeles, California.

Ben Mottau

GM of Trading


Ben Mottau is GM of Trading at The Trade Desk. Ben is responsible for scaling the company’s and its partners trading capabilities across the Western US, Southeast Asia and Australia. Ben works closely with skilled clients across the region to forge best practices in programmatic advertising.

As the first business hire at The Trade Desk, Ben helped develop the company’s platform as its Director of Operations. Before that, Ben led DSP integrations and business development at AdECN, one of the world’s first digital advertising exchanges.

Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard University and lives with his wife in San Francisco.

Natalia Papiol

GM of Spain


Natalia Papiol is General Manager for The Trade Desk in Spain, where she oversees client development and retention within the market.

She brings over 15 years of digital marketing experience to the role; before joining The Trade Desk, Natalia was Head of Digital at Mediacom.

Prior to that, she was responsible for developing Xaxis (part of GroupM) in Spain, where she executed the launch of the business and managed the team responsible for service delivery. Natalia has also held a range of digital positions at local and international networks and publishers, including Hi-media, Antevenio, and Santander Bank Group.

Natalia has a BA in Business Administration and a master's in Sales and Marketing.

From these various experiences she has gained excellent adaptation and communication skills, along with the ability to react quickly and efficiently to a fast-changing environment.

Natalia is passionate with brand strategy and always looks for disruptive ways of engaging audiences across all screens.

Natalia is based in Madrid, Spain.

James Patterson

VP of Global Operations


As VP of Global Operations for The Trade Desk, James Patterson manages strategy and execution for key global operational initiatives and ensures alignment with the company’s business goals.

Prior to this global role, James was GM of the UK, significantly growing The Trade Desk’s footprint in that dynamic market by overseeing a portfolio of agencies, media teams, and aggregators at the cutting edge of digital advertising. James brings more than 12 years of digital experience to his current role – both in the advertising technology space and on the agency side, having previously led teams at Kenshoo, Havas, and Mediacom.

At The Trade Desk, James collaborates with leaders across the company and in the industry to drive growth and deepen partnerships around the world.

Samantha Pearlson

GM OF CLIENT SERVICES, SOUTHEAST ASIA


Samantha joined The Trade Desk in 2019 as General Manager, Client Services, SEA. She leads the company’s South East Asia client services teams, including the account management and trading functions, from the company’s Singapore office.

Samantha began her career in 2005 after moving from Cape Town to London to work for an independent search marketing agency. She followed this up with positions at MEC (now Wavemaker) and OMD UK before transferring to Singapore in early 2011 to take on her first APAC regional role with Omnicom.

In 2015, Samantha joined [email protected] in Singapore to lead the digital agency team for IBM in APAC, and in 2017 shifted gears and joined Nugit, a data storytelling platform, as VP Client Success and Operations.


Samantha lives in Singapore with her husband, two kids, and beloved rescue pup, Domino.

Gruia Pitigoi-Aron

SVP of Product


Gruia Pitigoi-Aron is the Senior Vice President of Product for The Trade Desk. In his role, Gruia oversees teams that are responsible for all product management, user experience, and enterprise solutions at TTD. Closely working with all internal Trade Desk business teams, engineering, clients, and partners is a common theme as they aim to ship the right product at the right time with global impact and scale.

Prior to joining the Trade Desk, Gruia spent 10 years at Microsoft as a Product Manager in various capacities, while working on Outlook.com/Hotmail, Windows Live Agents, and BizTalk Server. The general focus was always on core parts of the systems, with the largest amount of time spent scaling and managing Hotmail’s ever increasing storage infrastructure.

Gruia received his M.S. in Computer Science from the University of California: Los Angeles, and his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science for the University of California: Berkeley. He is based in the Trade Desk’s offices in San Jose, CA.

Akhil Savani

Akhil Savani is Vice President of Inventory Partnerships at The Trade Desk. In his role, he oversees teams that are responsible for The Trade Desk’s global supply partnerships and operations.

Akhil brings fifteen years of experience in digital media. Prior to joining The Trade Desk, Akhil worked in business development and corporate development roles at NBC Universal, DivX, Redbox and Technicolor.

Akhil holds bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He lives with his family in Los Angeles.

Laura Schenkein

SVP of Financial Planning & Analysis


Laura Schenkein is the Senior Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis for The Trade Desk. In her role, Laura oversees teams responsible for Corporate Development, FP&A, and Sales Operations. These teams partner with the executive team, global leaders, and external constituents to drive decision support, execute strategic analyses, and structure financial transactions.

Prior to joining The Trade Desk, Laura worked in investment banking for Barclays Capital in New York, in advisory roles for various high growth technology companies, and in management consulting for The Corporate Executive Board in London and Washington DC.

Laura earned her MBA in Finance and Management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and her bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Tufts University. Laura is based in The Trade Desk’s offices in New York City.

Alex Schneider joined The Trade Desk as a member of the founding team in 2010 and now co-leads the company's client services with a focus on the West Coast.

In his role Alex owns key client relationships and is passionate about educating clients on our technology and the ever changing ad-tech ecosystem.

Before The Trade Desk, Alex founded the Ventura Ventures Technology Center, a business incubator for high-tech start-ups. Alex is a graduate of Syracuse University and lives and works in Los Angeles and Ventura, CA.

Henry Shelley

GM of South East Asia


Henry joined The Trade Desk in 2018 as the General Manager of South East Asia. In his role, Henry is responsible for leading TTDs growth strategy in the region, leading key client and partner relationships and championing TTDs unique culture and values across the business.

Henry began his career in 2006 in London working for digital agency Latitude before heading down under in 2009 to join Mitchells Communication Group’s search engine marketing division, Columbus Search in Sydney.

In 2012, following the acquisition of Mitchells by Aegis (later Dentsu Aegis Network), Henry was appointed as Managing Director of Amnet ANZ, and grew the business to more than 60 employees across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Auckland. In 2016 Henry was appointed VP Global, Product Innovation, where he was tasked with accelerating Amnet’s product ambitions across TV and OOH.

Cal Smith

VP of HR Operations


Cal brings over 20 years of experience leading Human Resources service delivery and re-invention — creating competitive advantage by aligning workforce and talent strategies, introducing cognitive capabilities and technologies, and reshaping HR operations with a focus on talent-centric and data-driven decision making.

Prior to joining the Trade Desk, Cal served as a Partner in IBM’s Talent & Transformation business, where he was responsible for shaping complex people strategy and HR service delivery operations for global IBM clients. In this role, Cal leveraged data, analytics and emerging technologies to optimize HR processes and people investments, and develop an agile HR organization that can rapidly respond to strategic objectives.

Cal graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Business Management, and is a SHRM-certified Global Professional in Human Resources. He’s also an abstract painter, the founder of a small boutique spice company, and has served in the United States Army specializing in Microbiology and Laboratory Sciences. Cal lives in Denver, Colorado, with his two dogs and cat.

Philippa Snare

SVP of EMEA


As Senior Vice President, EMEA, Philippa Snare leads the EMEA operational headquarters, driving revenue generation and new client acquisition strategy across the region.

Prior to The Trade Desk, Philippa led Facebook’s Global Business Marketing division, overseeing large teams across all markets in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. In this role, Philippa was responsible for driving revenue growth and market share among leading brand advertisers and agencies. Prior to this, she served as the Chief Marketing Officer for Microsoft UK, overseeing marketing for the entire Microsoft portfolio. Over 16 years she has served in a range of other leadership roles at Microsoft, including Sales and Marketing Director, and Commercial Director for Windows Live.

Philippa is an honours professor and holds a bachelor’s degree from Coventry University and a master’s in business administration from The Open University. She is a Fellow of the Global Marketing Academy and serves as a non-executive for Redgate Software.

Zak Stengel

SVP of Technology


As Senior Vice President of Technology, Zak Stengel leads The Trade Desk's global development team in building the industry's most expressive and highly scaled demand-side platform (DSP) for digital advertising.

Zak brings with him a long history of leadership in adtech. Before joining The Trade Desk, he led the development team for the Microsoft Advertising Exchange (formerly AdECN) and the Delivery Engine team at Microsoft Contextual Advertising, where he helped pioneer real-time bidding (RTB) technology and scale Bing advertising demand into web and mobile display.

Zak received his Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Yong Sung

Vice President of Agency Development


Yong Sung is Vice President of Agency Development at The Trade Desk, where he oversees global partnerships with large advertising holding companies.

Yong joins The Trade Desk from Google, where he led Global System Integrator (GSI) Partnerships with the top five largest agency holding companies at Google Cloud. Prior to that role, Yong held increasingly senior positions on the global product commercialization team at Google. Previously, Yong helped launch Verizon Media Platforms in the U.S., heading up the client services and operations team. Earlier in his career, Yong held executive positions at Publicis and WPP companies, working with brands like American Honda, Walmart, Sprint, American Express, and General Mills.

In addition to his deep history with ad technology, Yong brings his extensive knowledge of all offline and online media channels and brand and performance marketing, as well as his recent experience in the cloud and enterprise industry.

Yong holds a B.A. from Brandeis University, and a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree from NY Chiropractic College. He resides in Westchester, NY, with his wife, daughter, and beloved dog.

Chris Toth

VP of Investor Relations


Chris currently serves as Vice President, Investor Relations.

Chris brings leadership depth in a wide array of financial management functions, including investor relations, financial planning & analysis, M&A, business valuation, and corporate development. Prior to The Trade Desk, Chris was head of investor relations at Newport Corporation before its acquisition by MKS Instruments. Previously, Chris was in the finance department at International Rectifier where headed investor relations and held concurrent roles in finance and corporate development prior to its acquisition by Infineon Technologies.

An avid backcountry hiker, Chris also serves as a Director for Push It Inc., a start-up SaaS company, and a Director for a non-profit Australian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that is facilitating a tourism project for the East New Britain Province in Papua New Guinea by creating a partnership between federal and local government groups to build a self-sustaining and eco-friendly adventure tourism industry.

Chris holds an undergraduate degree in engineering from the University of California at Irvine and resides in Southern California with his wife and two children.

Mitch Waters

SVP of SouthEast Asia, Australia & New Zealand


As SVP of South-East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Mitch manages all aspects of the company’s strategy, operations and people management in the region, based out of Singapore. He brings comprehensive experience across sales, strategy and innovation in the media and advertising industries to this role.

Mitch has been a high profile advocate of programmatic advertising and industry transformation, particularly in Australia. He is a regular commentator with AdNews, The Drum, and other media.

He was promoted to SVP, having previously led The Trade Desk in Australia and New Zealand, where he drove significant advances in revenue and market share. Mitch was also at the forefront of The Trade Desk’s efforts to drive collaborative innovation with advertising agencies through APIs.

Prior to The Trade Desk, Mitch led AOL International in Australia, where he launched the group’s platforms on the local market. He also held senior sales roles within various digital divisions of News Corp in Australia.

In addition to his role at The Trade Desk, Mitch sits on a number of high-profile industry councils, including the IAB Australia Video Council and IAB Australia Executive Technology Council. He also volunteers his time to mentor the next generation of media executives.

Mitch graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor degree in Commerce and Economics.

Drew West

GM of Global Academic Partnerships


Drew West is the General Manager of Global Academic Partnerships, overseeing global partnerships and programs with academia for The Trade Desk.

Since joining The Trade Desk in 2014, Drew has built The Trade Desk’s Global Services organization, including follow-the-sun coverage Support, Business Intelligence, API Support and Data Capture Support and Business Intelligence delivery capability from offices in New York, Chicago, London, Hamburg, Sydney, Hong Kong and our headquarters in Ventura, California. In 2019, Drew launched The Trade Desk's Data Capture team to expand The Trade Desk’s capabilities in providing quality, actionable data that enhances the success of our clients, as well as the Global API Support team.

In 2020, Drew takes on a new challenge of building The Trade Desk’s global academic partnerships and programs. This new initiative will position The Trade Desk to collaborate with traditional and non-traditional education institutions to prepare students for successful careers within the AdTech industry.

Drew lives in Ojai, California and is an avid supporter of community service initiatives related to education, shelter and housing, food and nutrition, and at-risk senior and child assistance programs.

Greg Win

VP of Finance


As Vice President, Finance, Greg oversees the accounting and finance function for all entities outside the US. Greg has worked in global accounting and finance for twenty years in both in-house and consultancy roles.

Greg holds a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

Greg is based in The Trade Desk’s London office.

Art Yegorov

VP of Engineering


Art Yegorov is Vice President of Engineering for The Trade Desk. Art joined The Trade Desk in 2014 with over 15 years of combined software development and engineering leadership experience in a variety of industries and sectors including energy trading, financial software, e-commerce, data warehousing, and large-scale data management systems and workflows. Prior to The Trade Desk, Art spent nine years at Microsoft, where he spent the majority of his time hands on, building and leading development of massively scalable distributed computation and data management systems.

Today, Art heads the platform and experiences engineering organization, which is responsible for ensuring best-in-class performance, user experience, reliability, and scalability of The Trade Desk platform and products.

Brian Stempeck

Chief Strategy Officer & Director


As Chief Strategy Officer & Director for The Trade Desk, Stempeck oversees the company’s relationships with agencies, advertisers and strategic partners. Stempeck specializes in educating marketers about the evolving world of digital advertising, and helping them develop online marketing strategies for clients.Recently, Stempeck led The Trade Desk's Connected TV (CTV) initiatives. As TV viewership rapidly moves to over-the-top (OTT) devices, Stempeck has advanced The Trade Desk’s product efforts with TV networks and advertisers. From Q4 2016 to Q4 2017, CTV spend on The Trade Desk platform increased 535 percent.

A recognized digital marketing and advertising expert, Stempeck is regularly featured in media, including Adweek, Ad Age, Broadcasting & Cable and TechCrunch, and speaks at leading industry events such as Advertising Week, dmexco and Programmatic I/O, among others. Stempeck has also been named one of Adweek’s Young Influentials, recognized as one of the publication’s “10 Rising Tech Stars.”

Stempeck serves on the Board of Directors for the Ad Council and is an Advisory Board Member for Advertiser Perceptions.

Stempeck has spent the majority of his career in online media. He started his career as a political journalist with E&E Publishing on Capitol Hill, and launched E&E’s online video division in 2006 before receiving an MBA degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina.

Stempeck also worked for Unilever in brand management on the Dove brand, and at Bain & Company, the strategy consulting firm. At Bain & Co., he advised Fortune 500 clients in the retail and pharmaceutical sectors on their digital marketing strategies, and also worked for Bain’s private equity practice.

Stempeck lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.

Lise Buyer

Founder & Managing Partner, Class V Group


Lise Buyer is the founder and Managing Partner of the Class V Group, a consulting firm that advises companies on initial public offerings and other market strategies.

Previously, Ms. Buyer was the Director of Business Optimization for Google where she was one of the chief architects of the company’s innovative IPO.

Before Google, Ms. Buyer had a long career in the investment industry, including years as a buy-side investor, sell-side analyst, and as a venture capitalist. Through early 2000, she was Director of the Internet/New Media research practice for Credit Suisse First Boston. Prior to that, Ms. Buyer spent six years as an institutional investor at T. Rowe Price Associates, where she was responsible for the firms’ investments in desktop technology. She began her career on Wall Street as an analyst of both the technology and entertainment industries.

Ms. Buyer served on the board of directors for the publicly traded Greenfield Online Inc., an online survey company, until it was acquired by Microsoft.

Ms. Buyer holds a B.A. from Wellesley College and an M.B.A. from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. She is a past Trustee of the Nichols School, prior member of the TED Braintrust and a former Fellow of the Davos World Economic Forum.

Kate Falberg

Board Member and Investor


Kate Falberg currently serves as a Board Member for multiple companies in the life sciences and technology industries and an investor.

Kate joined the board of The Trade Desk in August 2016 and currently also serves as a Director for publicly traded biotechnology companies BioMarin Pharmaceutical,  Medivation, Aimmune Therapeutics and aTyr Pharma. She previously served on the boards of Halozyme Therapeutics, Ariosa Diagnostics, QLT, VISX, Fresh Del Monte and Human Genome Sciences and ESS Technology. 

Earlier in her career, Kate held several CFO and Head of Strategy and Corporate Development roles in the technology and biotechnology industries including for Applied Magnetics Corporation, Amgen and, most recently, Jazz Pharmaceuticals. Kate was an early investor in AdECN and served as CFO when the company was sold to Microsoft. Kate holds a B.A. and an M.B.A. from UCLA, is a CPA (inactive) and a UCLA Certified Director.

Thomas Falk

CEO, eValue Group


Thomas Falk is a serial entrepreneur, investor and CEO of the eValue Group, consisting of the publicly traded eValue Europe AG, the media investment bank Digital Capital Advisors and the US-based investment fund Revel Partners.

Falk is responsible for the strategic direction of the whole group and international investment strategy. The investments cover the complete digital value chain from online video and mobile advertising to rich media, adserving, targeting performance marketing and technological service companies.

Focusing on the digital media industry, the eValue group not only provides investments, but also unique value adding services, which encompass technology development, legal consulting, controlling, HR services as well as marketing and PR.

The technology providers Falk Tech and Adternity develop individual software solutions for the investments. The portfolio companies include Click District, Digital Response, VoodooVideo, StrikeAd, Own3d as well as smartclip. The latter was initiated by Falk and subsequently built into the European leader for online video.

In addition, Falk was significantly involved in growth and exit of the companies EyeWonder and United Mail Solutions. He was involved with the companies since their foundation and internationalization until the successful exit.

Previously, Falk was as President EMEA at Doubleclick acting on the highest international management level, after selling his company Falk eSolutions to the latter. He left this position when Doubleclick was acquired by Google.

Eric Paley

Eric Paley is a co-founder and Partner at Founder Collective, a seed stage venture capital fund started by a team of entrepreneurs that launched companies and led them through successful exits. These founders are focused on helping the next generation of great entrepreneurs build important and lasting companies. Eric led Founder Collective's investments into numerous companies including Uber, Cruise, Makerbot, HotelTonight, Kuvee, Bookbub, Contently, The Trade Desk and Integral Ad Science. Eric has served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Harvard Business School and is a frequent contributor to Techcrunch.

Previously, Eric was the CEO and a co-founder of Brontes Technologies, a 3D imaging mass customization company, which was acquired in 2006 by 3M.

Eric was also the CEO and co-founder of Abstract Edge, a web application development and marketing company in New York.

Eric graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dartmouth College and as a Baker Scholar from the Harvard Business School.

Gokul Rajaram

Caviar Lead, DoorDash


Gokul Rajaram currently serves on the executive team at DoorDash, where he leads Caviar, a premium food ordering service. Prior to DoorDash, he worked at Square, where he led several product development teams and served on Square’s executive team. Prior to Square, he served as Product Director of Ads at Facebook, where he helped Facebook transition its advertising business to become mobile-first. Earlier in his career, Rajaram served as a Product Management Director for Google AdSense, where he helped launch the product and grow it into a substantial portion of Google’s business. Rajaram holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, where he was awarded the President of India's Gold Medal for being class valedictorian. He also holds an M.B.A. from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master of Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin.

David Wells

Board Member and Former CFO, Netflix


David Wells has served as a member of our board of directors since December 2015. Mr. Wells served as the chief financial officer of Netflix, Inc., a media-services provider, for 8 years, retiring in early 2019 after nearly 15 years with the company and having served as vice president of financial planning and analysis prior to chief financial officer. Prior to Netflix, Mr. Wells served in progressive roles as a management consultant with Deloitte Consulting. Mr. Wells received a B.S. in Commerce and English from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A./M.P.P. Magna Cum Laude from the University of Chicago.
